In the province of Quebec, where the formation of frazil ice is a major problem, a state-of-the-art intake design was developed & implemented to eliminate this issue.

• The Alford Design Group project list tells the success story of a firm whose track record of noteworthy achievements is unparalleled in the field of engineering and resource management in the alpine environment. ADG's expertise includes snowmaking support system design, hydrology, golf course irrigation, and waste water management.
• ADG has completed work on over 380 projects in North America, Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, South America, North and South Africa. In this diverse geographical market, clients have relied on ADG in the preparation of technical/economic feasibility studies, master plan developments, value engineering studies, retrofit and new engineering design, and project management. 
• Started in the early 70s by Peter B. Alford, the Firm provided independent, objective technical services as a fully integrated consulting engineering firm.  The demands of larger projects with increasingly diverse technical complexity, and of broadening geographical market, caused the Firm to begin to utilize external technical assistance.  In the next decade, the Firm adopted the "group" concept to meet this expanded role in the rapidly changing marketplace. To reflect this "group" approach more accurately, the Firm became Alford Design Group, LLC.
• Until the mid-80s, the Firm was involved almost exclusively in planning, design and project management services related to conventional air/water snowmaking systems.  Since that time, fan and tower snowmaking processes have been developed and refined.  These developments have presented many different equipment options within each process type.  This in turn, has resulted in a continuously increasing level of process control technology, including on-hill automation.
• Keeping pace with these fast-moving technologies, ADG has not only adapted, but now leads the field with research and development.  Today, ADG is a leader known worldwide for its objectivity, expertise, flexibility, and excellence.
